What is security deposit?
The deposit is a guarantee for Hoas in the event that the tenant does not pay the rent or other fees, or they damage the apartment. Please note, that the deposit cannot be used to pay for the last month’s rent, and you cannot use it while the tenancy agreement is in effect.
Pay the deposit as a bank transfer before you accept the housing offer. You can find the payment information on the housing offer email. Upload the receipt of payment as an attachment to the application by the given due date.
International students can also pay the deposit with bank or credit card. Using bank or credit card to pay the deposit requires registration beforehand. See instructions for exchange students to pay with bank or credit card.
If you want to apply for the deposit to be paid by Kela, please contact Hoas and Kela to check the current procedure.
International bank transfer fees
Please note that it is your responsibility to take care of any charges for international transactions, so you should add them to the amount to be paid. Any added costs will reduce the amount received by Hoas. Please contact your own bank directly for more information about the bank fees.
